Today is the Day!

I can't believe it's finally here! Release day for The Model Man.

A couple of weeks back I sent an advance copy to a long-time friend of mine. I didn't really know if she'd read it, but this friend was one of those I used to force to read some of my earliest work, LOL. And she was always supportive. In the years between the "good ol' days" and now, she's become a fan of romance and reads them by the dozens. So it was a proud moment to share mine with her.

As I said, I had no idea if she'd read it, so imagine the thrill when I found this note in my e-mail inbox the other day:

I just finished reading this and I LOVED it. I like to see when the average everyday girl gets the cute guy over the sexy models. I felt like I was right there along with them viewing everything. The Love scenes were unbelievable. I fell in love with Derek. I love it when books take you away and put you in another place mentally. I can’t wait to read your next book.

That definitely made my day!

The Model Man is available now in e-format from The Wild Rose Press. It will be available in print on May 23.

"Shy Tea"

Since it stays cold so long here in Upstate, NY I tend to gravitate toward warm beverages most of the year. The morning coffee is a must-have, of course, that goes without saying.

But in the afternoons I love nothing more than a cup of hot tea. Chai spice has always been a favorite, but the stuff I buy at the grocery store never seems to have that "coffee shop" taste I enjoy so much. And let's face it, I can't afford coffee shop prices more often than once a month or so.

But recently I stumbled across a recipe for a home made version of Chai spice that almost makes me think I don't mind if winter holds on for another week or two *G*. My youngest son has dubbed it "shy tea" and it's pretty close to the coffee house version.

Since tomorrow is the first day of spring (and snow is in the forecast!), and today we have grey, cloudy skies, pouring rain and cold temperatures, I thought I'd share the recipe here.

1 can sweetened condensed milk, regular or fat free
1/4 tsp. each ground cloves, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and allspice

Mix together in a 2 cup container with a lid. Brew a cup of very strong hot black tea and sweeten with a bit of the chai spice mixture. Mixture can be refrigerated for up to one week.

The Countdown Continues

I'm still counting the days until The Model Man is released! In a way, it's a little like the way my kids look forward to Christmas, LOL. But like them I know that once it's here, it's gone. That week my book will be featured on the new releases page will be very brief--and then the job begins of keeping it on everyone's mind!

For now, though, I'm still celebrating. I've posted the opening scene from the book on the Slip into Something Victorian blog site. Remember, anyone who leaves a comment there between now and release day (March 28) gets their name put in a drawing to win a free e-copy. The more times you comment, the more chances to win!
